2nd CACR Information Security Workshop
Janelle Edgar, Diversinet
Digital Certificates for Restricted Space Devices
Janelle will address challenges of putting digital certificates in
restricted space devices such as wireless and smart card. Deployers of
these devices are concerned about minimizing the space allocated to the
certificate in order to implement multiple applications at a reasonable
cost, while still providing strong security. The Diversinet solution to
these challenges, as well as how to flexibly handle designation of roles and
authorities, will also be covered.
Janelle Edgar is the Director of Business Development for Diversinet,
a digital certificate and PKI company based in Toronto. Janelle runs
the Washington DC area office. Prior to joining Diversinet in 1998,
she was a Senior Programs Analyst with the US Department of Treasury
and worked on payments and ECommerce policy and solutions. While there,
Janelle represented Treasury on the NACHA Rules and Operations Committee
and to BITS. Janelle spent over ten years before that in the financial
industry, as a Vice President, Corporate Operations at Maryland National
Bank and a Vice President of Operations at Continental Federal Savings Bank.
While at Continental, Janelle served on the Board of the Mid Atlantic
Automated Clearing Association. She is a graduate of Marymount University.
