The focus of the workshop is on issues related to the secure and efficient provision of cryptographic services. An emphasis will be placed on applications of interest to the financial services industry.

Registration

There is a nominal registration fee of Cdn $100 (US $65) per guest invited by the sponsors (Certicom, MasterCard, Mondex and Pitney Bowes). The registration fee for other participants is Cdn $500 (US $325). The purpose of the fee is to cover costs of snacks, room rental, equipment rental, and speaker expenses. Please register as soon as possible as space is limited for this workshop; registration is on a first-come first-serve basis.

Travel

Kitchener-Waterloo is approximately 100km/60miles from Pearson International Airport in Toronto.

Ground transportation from the airport to Kitchener-Waterloo can be arranged through Airways Transit (Phone: 519-886-2121). The cost is $Cdn 49 for a one-way fare, and $Cdn 96 for a round trip. Please make your bookings at least 48 hours prior to your travel date. This is a door-to-door service; they accept cash (Cdn or US funds), MasterCard, Visa and American Express.

Upon arrival at the Toronto airport:
  • Terminal 1: proceed to Ground Transportation Booth, Arrivals Level, Area 2.
  • Terminal 2: proceed to Airways Transit desk, Arrivals Level, Area E.
  • Terminal 3: proceed to Ground Transportation Booth, Arrivals Level, under domestic area escalators.

If you decide to rent a car, here are directions to the University of Waterloo:
  • From east or west, follow highway 401 to exit 278, highway 8 West.
  • Follow 8 West to 7 East ("Conestoga Parkway").
  • Follow 7 East to 86 North (still the Conestoga Parkway).
  • Exit at University Avenue West and drive about 2 miles.
  • Stop at the entrance kiosk for parking information and directions.
  • Parking is available at Lot M (North Side of Campus). Parking is $2. Any denomination of (Canadian) coins are accepted.
