Speaker's Bio
Stephen P. Howard is the Director of Smart Card Programs and is responsible for all smart card initiatives and financial transaction security. He has helped Certicom establish new smart card business lines and strategic relationships with smart card alliance members including IC manufacturers, smart card suppliers, third party integrators, and application developers. Mr. Howard brings specific expertise in smart card systems to address e-business solutions, financial payment systems and enterprise authentication.

Mr. Howard has over 19 years of experience in the fields of software, systems engineering and information security covering both commercial and government sectors. Prior to joining Certicom, he held senior positions with IBM Federal Systems, Loral, Lockheed Martin, and Sallie Mae.

Mr. Howard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Communication Sciences from the University of Michigan.
